To all contractors with lead & dust hazard liability exposure
Due to a new Renovation/Repair and Painting Repair program law concerning training and certification requirements effective April 22, 2010, it is important that all contractors are aware of all we know at this time.
First, this applies to all contractors that have any exposure to Residential Construction, Schools, or Child Care Facilities, constructed prior to 1978. The OSHA Training & Certification requirement carries fines of $37,500 per day, per job.
It is important to be aware that all standard insurance company liability policies in the market place exclude lead, dust, and mold. This is true even when a Pollution Liability endorsement is included. However, we can provide you a liability quote through Specialty Pollution Markets.
The price will vary depending upon your sales volume, type of work, and the deductible chosen. Please contact us if you would like a quote for this type of liability coverage. However, be aware that Training Certification is the first step, and no policy pays for fines.
